The Butterfly Hug
How does it work?
This exercise was developed for victims of catastrophic events and helps people during extreme stress. The response to high stress can cause a shock and „disconnecting“ from oneself. Focusing attention on the body will bring you back to yourself in times of huge stress periods. You reconnect the hemispheres by crossing your arms, which helps the brain process emotions and information better.
Try the butterfly hug method when in a panic, perhaps after failing your exams a few times.
